Excellent opportunity for an experienced Hardware Support Engineer to join a small team responsible for the maintenance and support of a large number of Servers across the UK. The purpose of the role is to diagnose and resolve hardware related issues relating to the servers. You will be required to provide technical server advice and support to UK and global sites. You must have strong Windows 2000 and 2003 Server experience in order to carry out basic networking activities.
Candidates will ideally be APS (Accredited Platform Specialist) qualified with an in depth knowledge of server hardware system architecture gained within an enterprise server environment (150 servers plus). Racking systems including power distribution with comms room infrastructure knowledge is essential. Experience of SCSI technology and system architecture on various platforms as well as system hardware and optimisation and data recovery including various RAID technologies is essential. Candidates must have worked in large server environments (150 servers+) to be considered for this role. The candidate must be required to communicate at all levels as well as with external suppliers. Candidates must display excellent professional skills and be able to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision. MCP in Windows 2000 Server is highly desirable.
24x7 Shift basis, shift allowance of 25% on top of salary.
